Alpheton Hall Barns is a unique and enchanting setting for your special day. Our barns are nestled in the rolling Suffolk countryside, surrounded by 25 acres of grassland and woodland. With its rich history dating back to the 10th century, our barns are steeped in character and charm. Our aim is to provide a carefully curated backdrop for your celebration, combining the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape with the rustic charm of our ancient barns.
Our Barns
Our two magnificent traditional timber frame Wedding Barns form the South and West sides of a Courtyard of farm buildings adjacent to Alpheton Hall and Church. The Barns are linked internally, ensuring that you and your guests never need to venture outside in inclement weather. Each Barn has been sympathetically renovated to retain its original charm, including new floors, lime plaster wall panels, sheep wool insulation, and efficient warm air heating. This means that even on the chilliest of days, you can rest assured that your guests will be warm and comfortable.
The South Barn 'Reception Barn'
The South Barn, or Reception Barn, is an aisled former double threshing barn with 10th century origins. This majestic space can accommodate wedding parties from approximately 50 to 200+ guests, with ample room for your bar and dancing without the need to relocate furniture. The aisles provide the perfect setting for our picture frame 'photo booth', or you can create a soft seating area or games and entertainment zones as you desire.
The West Barn 'Ceremony Barn'
The West Barn, or Ceremony Barn, is our dedicated ceremony space, nestled adjacent to the churchyard. With 13th century origins, this beautiful setting is perfect for your ceremony. The Barn can accommodate 200 guests but can also be tailored to accommodate smaller ceremonies. A stunning oak ceremony table, handmade on site from a tree from the original estate, sets the tone for your special day.
Outside Spaces
Our venue offers a range of outside spaces for your ceremony, confetti and photographs, welcome drinks, garden games, and evening food options. Whether you envision an intimate garden ceremony or a lively outdoor celebration, we have the perfect outdoor spaces to bring your vision to life.
